THE IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNICATIONS IN AN ORGANISATION

Image
Communication is a very important factor in the operations of every organisation. The communications department of the Progressive Democratic Party headed by Ukasha Hassan Ishaq is one of the most productive parts of this political party. The department was in charge of media and public relations. It is the bridge between the party executives, the members, and the general public. The work of the communications director is a vast ocean of ideas and creativity that requires maximum efficiency. Effective communication is an integral part of any party's success. Therefore, as the communications director of the Progressive Democratic Party, I had to make sure every information sent put to the public was the best and had the most intended impact. As the party of the people, our communication pattern was made to fit that of the people, making sure every aspect was covered for our message to achieve the effect. That is why in my speech on the day we launched our manifesto, I assured the pe...

THE BAMBOO STALK IS RELEVANT TO PDP

Image
Before the Campaign walk of the Progressive Democratic Party, various arguments and trolls have been raised by some individuals of other political parties against the PDP of using a bamboo stalk to support the Party's Flag. Some of these arguments considered the act as outmoded and not professional, others related it to the party being financially handicapped. However, it is notable to the PDP that, the modern is blended with the olden, and the continental with the local, to make a perfect idea. In Ghanaian society, Bamboos are of notable economic and cultural significance, being used for building materials, as a food source, and as a versatile raw product.  Bamboo has a higher specific compressive strength than wood, brick or concrete, and a specific tensile strength that rivals steel. The motive of the PDP using one stalk of bamboo to support the Party's flag is to symbolize the party's Truth and Commitment to the people of Ghana. It also signifies how versatile the pa...

A BEACON OF DEMOCRACY

Image
The famous, Greek philosopher, Aristotle, once said, "Politicians have no leisure, because they are always aiming at something beyond political life itself, power and glory, or happiness". This statement is given credence with a mere observation of the politician and the political mind. The politician has the unenviable task of leading the masses, a task that few are willing to do and even fewer are able to have. The flag bearer of the Progressive Democratic Party, Emmanuel Dose is a politician who is an advocate for democracy together with the executives of this great political party. Just as the "Democratic" in our party name, we value and uphold democracy in the country that is why we, PDP frown on the idea that politicians usurp control through force, but through the coercion of the people to select the individual to lead. According to Radhakrishnan committee report, "Democracy is a way of life and not a mere political arrangement. It is based on the princi...

BUILDING A VIVID POLITICAL IMAGE IN THE MINDS OF GHANAIANS

Image
There are many indicators that political brands are of considerable significance for voting decisions. In essence, the importance of branding for voting decisions on the part of the citizens derives from the party's branding functions, such as orientation aid in the form of an “information chunk” or risk-reduction function in the sense of a confidence surrogate. Based on the fact that brand management constitutes a central challenge for the marketing of political parties, it is appropriate to investigate what approach seems best in managing political brands and how these approaches should be formulated. Because of this, the Progressive Democratic Party's branding included branded souvenirs: books, pens, t-shirts, mugs, caps and nose masks, party vehicles, amongst others. It was not limited to, logos, colours, fonts, jingles, phrases, graphics or other images. These souvenirs and party properties were frequently used by members of the party, and also appeared on our blog site an...

A DIVE INTO THE PDP "YE DWENE WOHO POLICY"

Image
The Progressive Democratic Party’s PDP, “Ye Dwene Woho policy”, is an educational policy that encompasses three persisting issues facing the educational sector. Most government at a point focuses on providing job opportunities for the citizens, but the gap in this attempt is that the graduates do not have the necessary skills to fit in the demanding job market, due to a lack of adequate practical skills received in the various universities. That is why the PDP government when voted into power, seeks to “provide ultra-modern practical facilities in tertiary institutions Through its implementation, graduates will acquire the necessary skills and contribute to the countries development, whiles reducing the unemployment rate alongside. Also, the PDP government will “stress the inclusion of people with disability into the mainstream educational institutions”. The party believes that if they are inculcated, it will serve as a motivation to these people. In return, the country can divert its ...

Image
After nomination forms were made available for the flagbearer position, Mr Emmanuel Dose was the only aspirant for the position of the flagbearer. We took our time to go through the vetting process. He said, “Leadership I always say has nothing to do with age, gender, stature. It is inmate predisposition of oneself. Having served as a polling station organizer, polling station chairman and looking forward to being a zonal coordinator for one formidable political party in this country, I have all the prerequisite skills and experience in the political landscape to be the flagbearer of this political party”.
