FORMATION OF THE PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRATIC PARTY

The birth of the peoples political ’ saviour’ is due. The 6th of March, 2020 cannot be erased from the history of Ghana (Ghana Institute of Journalism). 

The PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRATIC PARTY (PDP) was inaugurated as part of the political communication academic requirement to form a simulated political party and organize campaign events. The party gleaned its ideologies, symbols, political position and motto from the current state of mother Ghana. It thrives for a markedly new or radical change of system the country has conformed to.

The PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRATIC PARTY conceives the model of politics as an arena for the virtuous and impartial pursuit of the common good and not as the arena for the pursuit of private interest.

The party conforms to the political position of the left-wing ideologies of the social democrats standing for equality, equity and not profit-oriented. In a politically charged world, there are key elements that are essential in giving a unique identity to the party which includes the name, flag and symbols. The presence of the aforementioned elements gives the party a distinctive identity amassing it to its ideologies. Political groups or actors express their tenets to the electorate through images, for example, flags, walks and slogans. 

Particularly, visual images are best in imparting the political message to the beneficiary in the least complex and most helpful methods. The shapes and tones utilized in images and flags are generally illustrative of the party’s belief system. In this report, we are entrusted with the duty of building up the name, the tones and in the age of a gathering, we have shaped. In the following areas, we give detailed conversations on the indistinguishable portrayal of our party.

The PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRATIC PARTY policy is to liberate the energies of the people for the growth of equal standards with rights to freedom, life and justice as the principles to which the government and laws of the land should be dedicated to specifically protect the life of every citizen.

The party seeks the development and boosting of every sector of the economy, namely, economic, education, sports and politics. The frame of the name presents the image of a party with the spirit of inclusiveness and full participation of women, yo uth, men and the disabled.

OUR COLOURS: Red, white, green and gold are the representation of our party colours

The red colour represents the working class and symbolic of our party’s holding ideals to represent social justice and inclusiveness. The frame of this colour is a shorthand for the party’s ideology as social democrats.

The white ccolourrrepresentsthe transparency of our party in governance. We shall at all times be accountable to the people of Ghana. This colour also signals that the PDP will at times ensure that its regime is governed with a huge presence of political and economic stability and ruling Ghana in peace. 

The green colour frames our party as a liberal one, that allows citizens the freedom to do and think as they like following the law in the spirit of democracy. It also symbolizes the fertility of our party to support and deliver healthy vegetation to our economy.

The Gold colour represents how precious we take the country’s resources and again, believing in restructuring to depend on our resources for a great change. This frame presents our party as one that helps boost the country’s economy, empowers, and elevates the economic status of the people.

THE PARTY’S SYMBOL: Progressive Democratic Party symbol is a hand with the index finger raised. 

The index finger raised represents One Ghana, signifying how dearly we take our country Ghana. 

The Palm underneath the hand which is also raising the index finger signifies how dearly we take our country Ghana.

The red and green used together signify how we will use both strength and resources to promote the progressiveness of our nation Ghana. The gold circle around the index finger signifies our togetherness as a nation. No discrimination amongst each other. After all, a great nation is made when people are united.

The gold hand represents how precious and serious we take all our resources into the democratic system to build the country. This means we stand for the call of all citizens, sectors and departments that include the Abled, Disabled, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math etc.

THE LAUNCH OF THE 'NK)SO) MANIFESTO'

Primarily, the manifesto launch of every political party is centred on addressing the general public on the policies, capabilities and means of achieving growth to develop a country. The PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRATIC PARTY, (PDP), a simulated political party by L300 Political Communication Group four students of the Ghana Institute of Journalism(G.I.J.), launched its "NKOSO) MANIFESTO" on Tuesday, 9th March 2021, on the GIJ campus . The event was attended by the Flagbearer and his running mate, executive members of the political party, loyal members of the party, some teaching and non-teaching staff of the institution and members of the public with an interest in education and politics. The launch provided a platform for the PDP to share its position on how and why it would work towards the growth and development of Ghana. A DIVE INTO THE PDP "YE DWENE WOHO POLICY"

The Progressive Democratic Party’s PDP, “Ye Dwene Woho policy”, is an educational policy that encompasses three persisting issues facing the educational sector. Most government at a point focuses on providing job opportunities for the citizens, but the gap in this attempt is that the graduates do not have the necessary skills to fit in the demanding job market, due to a lack of adequate practical skills received in the various universities. That is why the PDP government when voted into power, seeks to “provide ultra-modern practical facilities in tertiary institutions Through its implementation, graduates will acquire the necessary skills and contribute to the countries development, whiles reducing the unemployment rate alongside.
